The Firm has broad experience in representing businesses and individuals, foreign and domestic, plaintiffs and defendants, in all aspects of commercial litigation. We practice at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts throughout the United States. We have a particular expertise in complex, document intensive cases. We strive to advance our clients' business goals and objectives in the most creative, cost-effective, and expedient manner possible. We also advise clients on methods to avoid litigation and on using negotiation, mediation, and other dispute-resolution mechanisms to resolve business and commercial disputes.

Our practice covers a broad range in commercial litigation, including:

  • Anti-trust litigation
  • Business and economic tort litigation
  • Civil RICO litigation
  • Class action litigation
  • Construction litigation
  • Contract and UCC litigation
  • Director and officer liability litigation
  • Employment litigation
  • ERISA litigation
  • Product liability litigation
  • Professional malpractice litigation
  • Real estate litigation

For example, the Firm obtained a $15 million judgment for an Asian computer manufacturer in a jury trial in federal court, successfully defended the judgment on appeal, and represented our client in the judgment debtor's bankruptcy case and in related proceedings. Other examples of the firm's activities include enforcing a non-competition and confidentiality agreement in federal court in Washington State, and then negotiating a large settlement from the interfering competitors without resort to litigation; obtaining the dismissal of two federal class actions against a financial institution; successfully representing an agricultural products manufacturer in the Georgia Court of Appeals; prosecuting a case involving claims of civil conspiracy, unfair competition, and interference in contractual relationships on behalf of a large Ohio manufacturer in a Florida court, obtaining an injunction against the interfering competitors, and then negotiating a large settlement on the eve of trial; advising a professional sports league in a contract arbitration proceeding; and giving expert testimony on Florida probate law in a lawsuit in the Cayman Islands.
